Our Mission

Sacred knowledge, accessible to all.

Founded with a vision to bridge the gap between profound traditional scholarship and non-Arabic speakers, Quran Online Academy provides a sanctuary for learning, contemplation, and growth.

Methodology

Our methodology.

Designed specifically for non-native speakers, our curriculum emphasizes foundational understanding before complex memorization.

Language as a Key, Not a Barrier

Arabic is taught in your language first, then connected to its source. We dissect grammar in ways that map to English/Spanish/Turkish/Urdu/Indonesian/French logic — so understanding builds, not memorization.

Spiritual Context, Always

Every linguistic rule, every Tafsir lesson is taught alongside the historical and spiritual context of revelation. Knowledge without context is brittle.

A Global, Patient Community

You are studying with peers across continents who started where you stand now. Our forums and study groups are a sanctuary, not a competition.

Our Story

We started because we saw the same students fail elsewhere — and we knew why.

Quran Online Academy was founded in 2019 by a collective of scholars and teachers who had spent a decade watching Western Muslims wrestle with traditional curricula built for native Arabic speakers. Translations were poor, pedagogy was lecture-heavy, and what worked for a student in Cairo did not work for one in Toronto.

We rebuilt the curriculum from first principles. Every concept is taught in the student's language first. Every grammar rule connects to ones they already know. Every memorization session has context, not just repetition.

10,000+ students from 50+ countries later, our methodology has been refined by thousands of hours of one-on-one teaching. The principle has stayed the same: clarity, patience, and devotion to the Book of Allah.

FAQ

Common questions.

If your question isn't answered here, message us — we read every email.

Do I need to know Arabic to start? expand_more

No. Most of our students start with zero Arabic. Our courses are built specifically for non-Arabic speakers — every concept is explained in English first, then connected to its Arabic source.

How does the free trial work? expand_more

You book a 30-minute one-on-one session with a tutor matched to your goals and level. No credit card required, no commitment. After the trial, you decide whether to continue.

Are classes live or recorded? expand_more

Both. Every student gets live one-on-one sessions with a tutor at a time you choose. Sessions are recorded automatically so you can review them whenever you need to.

What happens if I miss a session? expand_more

You can reschedule any session up to 4 hours before its start time, no questions asked. Beyond that, your tutor will work with you to make up the time.

Are the teachers male or female? expand_more

Both. You can request a male or female tutor when you book — we respect that for many students this is an important consideration.

How are tutors verified? expand_more

Every tutor holds verified Ijazah credentials from recognized institutions (Al-Azhar, Umm al-Qura, Dar al-Mustafa, and similar). All credentials are checked before hiring and visible on each tutor profile.

How is payment handled? expand_more

You pay monthly through secure card payment, PayPal, or local payment methods (varies by country). Cancel any month, no long-term commitments.

Do you offer family or sibling discounts? expand_more

Yes. The second member of an immediate family gets 20% off, and any subsequent family members get 30% off.

What ages do you teach? expand_more

We teach students from age 6 to adults. Children are taught by tutors specifically trained in pediatric Quranic education.

Can I switch courses later? expand_more

Absolutely. Many students start with Recitation, move to Tajweed, then add Tafsir or Arabic. Your tutor will help you find the right next step when you're ready.
